State of Hawaii
The state of Hawaii is comprised only of islands whose permanent residents number just over one million. Hawaii is a true, tropical paradise. The climate is temperate year 'round, with tradewinds that romantically float the scent of fresh flowers to all who are lucky enough to make this their holiday destination.
The eight "main islands" are Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lānai, Maui, the Big Island of Hawaii, Kahoʻolawe and Niʻihau. Kauai, Oahu, Maui and Hawaii are the most visited islands. Molokai is becoming more popular. Lanai, Kaho'olawe and Ni'ihau are less popular holiday destinations.
Each island has something unique to offer visitors, but many first time holidays are spent on Oahu, in the city of Honolulu and along Waikiki beach. Accommodations range from inexpensive high-rise hotel rooms located a distance from the beach, to extensive luxury resorts overlooking the ocean.
The climate makes holiday packing a breeze. All that's required in Hawaii is a swim suit, casual attire for outdoor activities and a light coat or sweater for cooler evenings.
A vehicle rental will enhance your Hawaiian holiday. The islands are small, the pace is slow and there are many things to see on each island. From early morning snorkeling to late night dancing, it's more flexible to be on your own schedule.
